Proposal Photography in Crete

When Amit first contacted us, he wanted to surprise Tohar with a quiet proposal away from the busiest tourist beaches. The location needed to be accessible, suitable for a romantic setup and open enough for the photography to begin discreetly from a distance.
After discussing the available options, we chose Aposelemis Beach, close to Analipsi and Hersonissos on the northern coast of Crete. Its long shoreline provided enough space to find a quieter point while remaining within practical reach of the couple’s accommodation.
Maria arrived early to prepare a romantic picnic beside the sea with lanterns, wine and finger food. We also agreed on a simple arrival plan so Amit could guide Tohar toward the setup without revealing that the proposal was being photographed.
As Amit and Tohar approached the selected point, we remained part of the wider beach environment rather than standing visibly with cameras ready. This allowed the walk toward the setup to unfold naturally.
Amit stopped near the shoreline and proposed as the evening light began to soften. After the first reactions, they remained beside the sea, looked at the ring and spent time together before continuing with relaxed portraits and the picnic as daylight moved toward dusk.

A beautiful view is only one part of choosing a proposal location. Accessibility, visitor levels, walking distance, photographer positioning and the direction of the evening light all affect how naturally the experience can unfold.
Aposelemis Beach has a long and open shoreline. Visitors tend to spread across different sections, which can make it possible to choose a quieter point without describing the beach as private or guaranteeing that it will be empty.
Parking is relatively close to the shoreline, which was important for transporting the picnic materials without a long walk or difficult terrain. It also allowed Amit and Tohar to approach the location naturally rather than following a complicated route.
The open space gave us room to remain at a discreet distance during their arrival. After the proposal, the same section of beach could be used for portraits and for time beside the picnic setup, without moving the couple to another location.
Aposelemis faces toward the evening light, making it suitable for sunset proposals. The exact timing still needs to be planned around the date, season and expected conditions on the day.

Its long shoreline can provide enough space for the photographer to remain at a distance. Privacy depends on the season, time of day and exact section selected, so an empty beach cannot be guaranteed.
