Louie contacted us while planning a surprise proposal to Sarah during their stay in Crete.
He wanted the proposal to remain simple and personal, without decorations or a formal setup. The main priorities were a seaside location, suitable evening light and a plan that would allow the moment to be photographed discreetly.
Analipsi Beach offered a practical option close to the Hersonissos area. Its open shoreline allowed Louie and Sarah to approach the proposal point naturally while appearing to be taking an ordinary evening walk beside the sea.
Before the proposal, we coordinated the timing, meeting area and the section of beach Louie and Sarah would walk toward.
Because Analipsi is an open public beach, complete privacy could not be guaranteed. The plan therefore depended on choosing the correct area and allowing the photographer to remain at a discreet distance rather than trying to hide completely.
The proposal was scheduled before the light disappeared. This left enough time for Sarah’s reaction, the exchange of the ring and a short engagement session afterward.
Louie and Sarah walked together along the shoreline as the evening light softened.
When they reached the agreed area, Louie stopped beside the sea, turned toward Sarah and proposed.
Sarah’s reaction moved quickly between surprise, laughter and emotion. After she said yes, Louie placed the ring on her hand and they remained together beside the water for several quiet moments.
The photography then continued with relaxed portraits along the beach. We photographed the ring, their walk beside the sea and the changing evening light without turning the experience into a long formal photoshoot.

Analipsi Beach can be a practical proposal location for couples staying around Analipsi, Hersonissos or the nearby eastern Heraklion coast.
Its main advantage is accessibility. The beach can be reached without a long journey or difficult walking route, allowing the proposal to become part of an ordinary evening rather than a separate excursion.
The coastline includes organised and more open sections, so the exact proposal point matters. Complete privacy cannot be guaranteed on any public beach, particularly during the summer season. Selecting a quieter section and avoiding the busiest hours can make the experience feel considerably more personal.
The open shoreline also affects the photography strategy. There are limited places for a photographer to remain physically hidden, so discreet positioning and a clearly agreed walking route are more reliable than attempting complete concealment.
Timing should be planned around the specific date rather than simply choosing “sunset.” The proposal should normally happen before the official sunset time, leaving enough light for the reactions, ring photographs and portraits afterward.
